Current Season

Highlights from the most recent season include their debut concert at the “Dresdner Musikfestpiele” during the month of June 2022, were they had the honor to perform a recital alongside Katia and Marielle Labèque and their recent interpretation of Oliver Messiaen’s Visions l’Amen at the “Festival Neue Musik” in Rockenhausen, Germany for which they received widespread acclaim and recognition. Concert engagements include a recital tour to California, USA in May 2022. 

The young duo has been featured on German TV (SWR) and NDR radio with a live concert as well as in the BBC Music Magazine with an article about their recital in Lecce, Italy.

Clara and Marie Becker’s ascending international career as piano duo has been met with praise and accolades from both the press and audiences.The twins possess a wide ranging repertoire that encompasses music from the baroque to the contemporary eras for one or two pianos. At the same time, they share the conviction of the importance of bringing new music to life and encouraging new compositions for this formation. They have been honored to receive the dedication of several compositions among them works written by German composers Birgitta Lutz and Mathias Christian Kosel and are currently working together on commissions with the Greek composer Andreas Foivos Apostolou as well as the award winning composer Gonzalo Grau.
Another important work to be premiered by the sisters in the upcoming season is Artemis by the composer Pauchi Sasaki, a piece commissioned by the prestigious festival “Dresdner Musikfestpiele” for two pianos and electronics on occasion of Philip Glass’ 85th birthday with the support of the foundation “Momentum- our future now” and Fondazione KML.

In addition to recitals and concerts with orchestras in Germany and abroad (Italy, France, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Israel and Russia to name a few), the young piano duo regularly receives invitations to festivals such as “Musikfest der Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz” in Germany, “Festival Pianoscope” in Beauvais/France, “International Piano Fest” in Subotica/Serbia, Fondazione William Walton Ischia/Italy and Festival ClassicheFORME in Lecce/Italy.

In September 2019, Clara and Marie had their debut performance in the United States (New York City) and they finished a successful tour on the west coast that included recitals in San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento and Walnut Creek just recently (May 2022).
Some highlights of their appearances in media outlets throughout Europe include their participation in the live broadcast of “Katia, Marielle and friends” on Radio France were they performed alongside many important musicians such as Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Katia and Marielle Labèque, Barbara Hannigan and the Modigliani Quartet as well as the German documentary “Concerto for two pianos: The Making of” which features the sisters as they work alongside the composer Mathias Christian Kosel on his concerto dedicated to them. Since 2021, Clara and Marie have been actively involved in the organization of the chamber music series “Musiken” which has brought emerging and acclaimed musicians from around the world to their hometown of Kirchheimbolanden, Germany. Throughout the years, the sisters have participated in numerous masterclasses with acclaimed artists such as the piano duo Hans-Peter & Volker Stenzl as well as Jean-François Heisser and Jean-Frédéric Neuburger. For two years in a row, the twins were awarded a scholarship for Tel Hai International Master Classes (Tel Aviv), where they worked with Tami Kanazawa & Yuval Admony. In 2021 they were laureates of the prestigious Académie Ravel (St-Jean-de-Luz, France). Clara and Marie studied with Bruno Canino in Florence, and regularly work with Isabelle and Florence Lafitte in Paris.
